Safety, by design

Why RideSure is a safer way to move around Accra.

We didn't add safety features after the fact — we started with the question "what could go wrong on this trip?" and built backwards from there. Here's exactly what that looks like, and the data behind why it matters.

of Ghanaians say ride-hailing apps feel safer than traditional taxis or roadside transport.

Our core promise

Every trip, verified from two directions.

Location and behaviour — we track both, so safety on RideSure isn't just a claim, it's evidence.

Live GPS tracking

Every trip is tracked from pickup to drop-off, with the route available to you and, if you choose, to a trusted contact in real time.

In-vehicle camera recording

Trips are recorded from inside the vehicle, giving both riders and drivers an honest, objective record of what actually happened.

Customer service–trained drivers

Before certification, every driver completes a structured training programme on courtesy, conduct, and de-escalation — so the interaction feels as safe as the ride itself.

Driver verification

How well do you know your driver?

Most rides start with a stranger behind the wheel and no real way to check who they are. RideSure closes that gap before a driver ever gets a rider — here's exactly what we check, and how.

Step 1

National ID verification

Every driver submits a government-issued national ID before they can create an account. No ID, no access — full stop.

Step 2

Driver's license check

Licenses are checked for validity and class before approval, and re-checked periodically so an expired license doesn't slip through.

Step 3

Vehicle registration & insurance

The car itself is verified too — registration, roadworthiness, and insurance all checked against the plate before it ever appears on the app.

Step 4

Background screening

Drivers go through a background check before certification — not just a document check, but a look at their history.

Step 5

Ongoing re-verification

Verification isn't a one-time gate. IDs, licenses, and vehicle documents are re-checked on a rolling basis for as long as a driver is active.

Understanding the model

Carpooling, ride-sharing, e-hailing — they're not the same thing.

People use these terms interchangeably, but the safety guarantees differ a lot. Here's where RideSure sits, and why that choice matters.

Carpooling vs. ride-sharing

RideSure is a dedicated e-hail, not an informal carpool.

Carpooling relies on drivers already headed your way and informal trust between strangers. Ride-sharing platforms formalize that into a matched, on-demand service — but the safety net is only as strong as the verification behind it. RideSure runs full e-hailing: a dedicated, verified driver, dispatched to you, with every trip logged from pickup to drop-off.

Where RideSure fits

One category, done properly for one town.

Across Africa, e-hailing splits into car-hailing, motorbike-hailing, and negotiated-fare models — each suited to different roads and budgets. RideSure focuses on car and motorbike e-hailing tuned specifically to Accra's streets, fare expectations, and the safety gaps traditional taxis haven't closed.
